“WHAT IS QI GONG?”
Intro Workshop  with Barbara Gaea

Qi Gong is over 5,000 years old and one of the most popular healing practices in the worldtaught NOT as an exercise, but like a slow, moving, meditative acupressure.   It focuses our breathing on moving the healing Qi energy through the body generally, or to specific areas & systems—and mind (e.g. joints, organs, emotions).   Since it energizes when tired, and calms when over-stimulated, it is known for relieving stress, pain, anxiety and depression.  My elder version is simpler and done partially sitting.

LIKE YOGA, it is essentially a daily mental & physical  health-maintenance PRACTICE, although in my classes I also include many as-needed moves—e.g. for head & back aches, calming, energizing, etc.

Qi Gong bears countless testimonials for healing — thus lauded by

many doctors*!

Ideal for ELDERS & chronic conditions like fibromyalgia!

Rejuvenate your spirit and open your heart with sacred circle dancing and joyous group singing honoring the world's mystical traditions.

Through Yoga we seek to create harmony, balance, peace and strength within ourselves.

Through the Dances of Universal Peace we seek to create the same in unity with others.

The Dances are a joyous way of touching the spiritual essence within ourselves and others.  There are no performers or audience--new arrivals and old hands join together to form the sacred circle.  All easy dances are taught and accompanied by live music.  No experience and no partner necessary--only a desire to experience with an open heart.  We dance in bare feet.

Dances lead by:  Farishta Janice Bibeau

                                                                                       …using Asana to Heal

There are two beneficial movement patterns specific to Anusara Yoga's Universal Principles of Alignment for the hip to center the femoral head in the acetabulum. Learn how in the workshop.

In this healing workshop we will cover a group of Asana that are especially helpful for the lumbar spine and, hips. We will address how to help prevent and

     SUNDAY, MARCH 29, 2009 1-4 PM 2nd date added!

SUNDAY, MARCH 22, 2009 1-4 PM sold out

All Levels Welcome

As we emerge from the introspective quiet of winter, we welcome the expansive energy of the spring season. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, spring is the time of year for purifying and strengthening the most overworked organ in our body; the liver. Responsible for cleansing our blood of toxins, manufacturing hormones and humanizing the foods we ingest, the liver has more functions than any other organ in the human system. With the addition of modern day stress, addictive habits and food/environmental toxins, this precious organ is often overworked and congested.

Join Dariece Warren and Kippy Kern, N.E. for an afternoon of Yoga and Nutrition specifically targeting liver purification and support. We will begin with yoga practice and meditation, followed by a nutrition talk and demonstration, ending with foods and teas to sample that can be used to enhance the function of your liver.  Handouts will be given with information and guidelines to assist you with your own purification program.
